Dental
Care
Dental care provided by the U.S. Army Dental Clinic Command offers
dental service in accordance with current directives. There are
two dental facilities on Fort Meade: Epes Dental Clinic, Building
8472 on Simonds Street; and Dental Clinic #3 located in Kimbrough
on Llewellyn Ave. How to receive dental care:
Active
Duty
Routine Care: All patients must have a current examination prior
to definitive dental treatment. Active duty personnel may make appointments
by phone or in person. They will receive priority care and re-appointment
until oral health (Class 1 dental fitness status) is achieved. Active
duty personnel will always receive care on a first priority basis.
When the clinic is fully staffed, they should not have to wait more
than 2 to 3 weeks between routine appointments and will receive
all categories of care. The Director of Dental Services will curtail
space available care to retirees and family members as required,
based on priority delineated in AR 40-3, to ensure expedient care
to active duty personnel at all times. Presently, care for other
than active duty (OTAD) personnel is virtually unavailable.

participating dentists (those accepting the dental insurance fee
schedule as full payment, or agreed percentage in case of cost shared

available by appointment on an out-patient basis at the Fort Meade
Veterinary Treatment Facility (VTF), located in Building 2018 on
20th Street off of Route 175. The VTF facility handles walk-in visits
on Mondays only. No children under 12 years of age are allowed in
the VTF during scheduled clinic hours. Companion animal emergencies
will be treated on a time available basis only. All animal emergencies
should be called in to ensure that a veterinarian is available.
The VTF is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday for
Over-the-Counter sale of products. The appointment schedule for
veterinary clinical services (which include vaccinations, sick-call,
and health certificates) varies due to Food Service Inspection and

FGGM VTF. An evening Walk-In Vaccination Clinic is available once
a month from 6:30 to 7 p.m. To schedule an appointment or for more
